Alexander Moreira-Almeida,
MD, PhD, is a Clinical
Psychiatrist, Founder and
Director of NEPER (Center for
the Study of Religious and
Spiritual Problems) at the
Institute of Psychiatry,
University of São Paulo, Brazil.
He is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in
Religion and Health at Duke
University Medical Center. His
research interests include
mediumistic trances and the
relationship between
spirituality and health.
MD, PhD, is a Clinical
